Let me ask you this when you log on to your Facebook account are you doing it to read ads or check in on what your friends have been talking about? I am going to take an educated guess and say you are checking in on friends and would rather not see advertisements if it were up to you.
I can promise you this, if a consumer sees your promotions too much they will unfollow, unlike, and even block to ensure never seeing your ads again. Side note: if your promotions receive too many blocks or negative feedback, Facebook can take action.
It is easy to get lost in the realm of social media & it is even easier to be able to pitch your product or service to millions of people in a matter of minutes but, you have to stay focused when it comes to promotions and social media. If you do not have a social media strategy built before you build your first business account, then I am sorry, but you will be struggling to get your promotions seen.
If you are unsure on how often you should run a promotion, always remember the 80/20 content rule, 80% value to the consumer and 20% selling.Social media is a networking tool, not a sales tool.
